ASHTABULA COUNTY 4-H FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

The Award

THE AWARDS:

4-H Foundation Scholarships: The 4-H Foundation offers opportunities for numerous scholarships to be awarded each year. In addition to the many scholarships that are funded by our fundraisers, we are also thankful to have additional scholarships sponsored by local families and awarded by the 4-H Foundation. 2024 sponsors include the Stitt family, Zaebst family, and the Clark family. All of these scholarships are available to high school seniors as well as returning college students. Returning college students must reapply each year with the current year’s application.

Mildred Burhenne Memorial Scholarship: The Burhenne Family sponsors (1) $1000 scholarship each year and is offered only to high school seniors pursuing a degree in the broad field of Agriculture. This scholarship must be applied for separately from the Foundation scholarships.

Yevonne Miller Memorial Scholarship: New for 2024, the Miller Family is sponsoring (1) $1500 scholarship each year and is offered to female high school seniors. Applicants for this award must be pursuing a career pathway in Agriculture and Environmental Systems. This award also must be applied for separately from the Foundation Scholarships.

Students that meet the qualifications are able to apply for any or all of these awards. All applications MUST be received on the current year application and filled out completely and properly to be considered. Deadline is April 1.

The Application

The students who are eligible must fill out an application form (SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION 2024 ) and may be asked to attend a selection committee meeting for an interview. This will result in the naming of the recipient by the 4 – H Foundation. The scholarship will be given after successfully completing a full term. If a full load is not taken, the scholarship amount may be pro-rated.
